Machu Picchu, a Quechua term whose meaning is Old Mountain. Located at 2,430 meters above sea level in a place of great beauty, in the middle of a tropical mountain forest. It is an ancient Inca city that was built in the mid-fifteenth century.
It is currently one of the main tourist attractions of the country. The historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu is considered one of the seven new wonders of the modern world and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983.
3:00-5:00am transfer from the hotel in Cusco to the train station in Ollantaytambo or Poroy. Then we board the chosen train EXPEDITION / VISTADOME / INCA RAIL to go to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo).
Upon arrival, you will have a reception at the Aguas Calientes train station by our guide and we will transfer by bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Once in Machu Picchu, we will meet with the group to start the guided tour. After the tour, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes where we will have free time for lunch. We recommend enjoying one of the most medicinal hot springs in Peru during your free time, the establishment offers towels and bathing clothes for sale or rent.
06:00 – 08:00 pm we board the train to Ollantaytambo or Poroy.
Upon arrival we will be waiting for you at the train station in Ollantaytambo or Poroy for the transfer to Cusco.
